Hello everyone, My name is Sreymom. I have lived in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, I have five years’ experience teaching foreigners how to speak Khmer. I generally teach either informal or business Khmer with a preference for practical speech skills rather than a textbook based approach. I am equally happy teaching beginners or intermediate level speakers and have extensive written, audio and video material to support both. I am also able to teach formal language as well as reading and writing. In fact, I find that all of my students who do choose to learn even a little of the written language benefit a great deal from a better understanding of the sounds of the language. Additionally I enjoy teaching my students about Khmer culture, traditions, history, foods, etc. I have taught students from many different backgrounds including expatriates, missionaries, international agency staff (UNDP, UNICEF, NGOs), embassy staff, hotel staff, etc. I am flexible in my approach according to the needs of the individual student and am very happy to match my lessons to their particular requirements. I am very happy to teach a trial lesson of any style to demonstrate my abilities I receive very positive feedback from my students for being patient, fun and interesting while teaching them.
